General aspects of the fuel cells. General aspects of polymers. Characterization techniques: conductivity / impedance, water uptake, definition of lambda, mechanical properties, Young’s modulus, dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), ionomer nc analysis (INCA Method). Thermal and cross-link treatments. Proton conducting ionomers: perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA), long side chain (LSC) Nafion, short side chain (SSC) Aquivion. Sulfonated aromatic polymers (SAP), sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK). Anion exchange ionomers (AEI), polysulfone (PSU), polyphenylene oxide (PPO) with quaternary ammonium groups, synthesis and characterization. Ampholytic ionomers with amino acid groups, synthesis and characterization. Composites with layered double hydroxides (LDH), metal organic framework (MOF). Advanced ionomer. Other fields of application.
