Lecture: Ionizing radiation dosimetry in medical applications.

Objective: This course is an introduction to techniques and concepts in physics used in medicine, especially in oncology. The student will acquire theoretical and experimental knowledge in dosimetry and micro-dosimetry for radiation therapy application.
Program: Classification of ionizing radiation (photons, electrons, neutrons and ions). Interaction with matter. Biological Effects of ionizing radiation. Dosimetric quantities: absorbed dose, equivalent dose, linear energy transfer. Radiation therapy applications (Radiotherapy and Hadron Therapy). Radiation therapy dosimeters.
