Photothermal science: introduction. Thermal waves: differential equations of heat conduction, thermal waves generation and propagation, reflection and refraction of thermal waves. Transient thermal phenomena: propagation of heat pulses, effects at interfaces.  Instrumentation and detection techniques: infrared detection, photo-pyroelectric detection. Applications of photothermal techniques: thermal properties determination, non-destructive evaluation.
